Modernizing the Care Experience
Golden Age Elder Care exists to modernize and upgrade the care experience for both our clients and their family members.
our story
How We Got Here
Golden Age Elder Care was founded by Jenna Spates after five years in sales & marketing, and 15 years as a part-time home health caregiver. She left her position in corporate life to 'hit the reset button' and return to her passion for helping others.
Jenna has infused the company with a specific worldview, one that strives to be more respectful, gracious and hands on than other providers'. Golden Age Elder Care acknowledges that getting older is hard, and we empathize with the challenges that time and aging make unavoidable.
We are certain that our approach to professional, personal care & camaraderie makes a significant impact on the life of someone who needs extra support. We hope to reduce your daily stress and worry, and make reality more pleasant — and even more enjoyable, dare we say!
Outside of work, Jenna volunteers her time with local theaters and dance companies, and can often be found at home in the company of her two miniature dachshunds, Huck and Pip.

our value to clients
What Your Investment Supports
We often field questions from potential clients who wonder what value Golden Age Elder Care brings outside the initial caregiver matching services. The hourly fee paid to the company supports our efforts to monitor client-caregiver relationships as follows:
GAEC observes and manages the ongoing relationship between client and caregiver, whether it be during the two-week trial period after initial caregiver matching or throughout our time working together. Our goal is to ensure cohesiveness between client and caregiver and make changes quickly if necessary.
GAEC provides clients and any pre-determined Relations or Connections with recaps reviewing pertinent specific areas on the Care Worksheet (Ordinary Task Support, Health & Hygiene, Activity & Camaraderie, and Calendar Management) and ensuring all needs and requests submitted in the Care Worksheet are being met. These updates represent a compilation and review of weekly reports each caregiver is required to submit to the company.
GAEC implements unannounced visits while care is being rendered to ensure an ongoing high level of professionalism is provided and specific care guidelines are being followed.
GAEC bears the burden of managing the caregiver-client working relationship. This includes arranging a substitute caregiver should the need arise, notifying all parties of the switch, ensuring the new caregiver is up-to-speed on care requirements, and monitoring the substitution, regardless of length.
GAEC manages all personnel issues and deliverables related to caregivers. Prior to hiring, the company requires caregiver applicants to submit three personal references and three professional references, each of which the company vets thoroughly via in-person or phone meetings. GAEC also manages the detailed background check process through New York State. GAEC monitor our caregivers are where they need to be, when they need to be there.
